the unknown she!

It was different this time, as though lightening was scaring away the thunder. My conviction of her being calm and patient was beginning to be contradicted strongly by her sudden change in behavior.
She looked so furious and agitated that storms for now seemed to be more peaceful. I  crept to a corner wondering how overpowering she had become. She was frustrated and fed up of; her failing attempts, insensitivity of snobs and ingratitude of the selfish greed feeders. I couldn't believe I said those words. My tongue grew sharper, although not as that of a sword, yet , capable of inflicting the deepest wounds.
Scared of her, I peeked but then I saw her upset and crying herself to sleep. I went near her and brushed her hair with my fingers. She turned to me and hugged me tight and together, we cried.
She apologized to me, but I said to her , "You live in me, I come from you, And I thought I was weak, until I knew you!"

Embrace yourself!

I decided to go backstage, to wish her luck. When I went in, I saw her clutching the curtains, so nervous; holding it tight in an attempt to never let go of it. I looked at her; she was wearing a formal dress, paired with  high heeled sandals and her hair was carefully combed and pinned; she looked, well ,i would say,"presentable!"

She shared with me her fears of performing. She confessed that she knew she could sing well, but it was the response of the gathering that shook her knees. I smiled at her and softly sang to her, "If it has to be perfect, it has to be you; forget what others instructed you!"
She gave the slip to the curtain at once, and  peeked at her unnerving hearers. Then as I carefully watched her, she unbuttoned her sleeves and unstrapped her sandals. Confidently, she walked barefoot on stage and the audience was blown away; and most importantly, she sang well!
And while I overheard the cheer and applause that she received, I looked at those sandals; black, high heeled and beautiful!
And i asked myself, "Why wear shoes that pinch?"

Strings aint chains !

With those misty eyes, she looked at me; barely able to see anything past her disobedient locks. She smiled at me, with broken milk teeth, a face so bright, devoid of fear or uncertainty.
I thought to myself how easy it was her to tiptoe or sprint, with no fear of objection; free from pride, far from opinions or misjudgment.
I wondered how things could change so much! how could other's  notions begin to matter so much and every movement , expected to be measured or weighed! There is no freedom! No spontaneity!Every body is governed by the fear of being judged.

She twirled around me and ran; I laughed! Not amused by how adorable she was, but mocking my own inability to enjoy liberty. Oh! how I wish I could sweep or swing unrestrained.
She came closer and whispered to me "I am you, you are me; But thats not what everybody sees!"

I sang out loud to those clouds above, who gracefully poured down their generous love. And i stood there, beside the lake, drenched, alone on a lovely evening ....

Melodious lament

Prancing off the beaten track
On an eerie night so black
Singing out loud with all her might
To an insensitive lonesome night

There she stood with her big brown eyes
Staring at the world so bizarre
Smiling softly at those times
When she was arrogant about her dynamic mind

A mind that she believed was deprived of honour
By being paired with a frame so lamentable
For so immature was she to understand well
That gold, thought precious, is brittle still !!!
